My Surprise of the Day

I was calmy watching the NASCAR race, well there was a wreck with 5 laps to go.....but what I was really doing was returning to my Southern roots by reading the Novemeber issue of Southern Living .

Much to my surprise there is an article on Ree aka The Pioneer Woman . I usually read her blog daily, however, I must have missed that she would be a feature. It is a fabulous article, if you get a chance pick up a copy.

Other than that, NSLO is happy but very busy and 10% of the Univ. has the Flu/Swine Flu.

Technological Wonders!

So, I am driving and my phone makes the enevitable "Text Message" noise.
The following was received.


NSLO: hi do you think that you could bring my warm robe and flannel pajamas too
its supposed to snow tonight.

Next text: 5 minutess later...

And my snow pants.

Yes, snow in way the hell upstate NY.

Then I check my Facebook and the following were posted on my wall.

Do you think that you could also go for a box of lucky charms, a box of special k, a box of regular honey bunches, and a box of raisin bran?

and a longer cord (phone jack) for my phone so i can actually keep it on my desk instead of on the floor.

Parents weekend is this weekend. I have made trips to the Container Store, Target, Stop n Shop, Costco, the pharmacy.....everywhere.

We arrive on Friday and will leave on Sunday. Wonder how many tri0ps to WalMart and AGI we will make in 2 days?

Do I dare shut off my phone tonight?

These are the zucchini plants from hell.....or..."I had no idea they got so big!"



This is the zucchini that hid under the leaves from the plant that has taken
over the space in which it was planted! Too big to just steam so I believe Zucchini bread is in our immediate future.

Happy Birthday

Today is my Dad's 85th birthday. Happy Birthday Dad.

I want you to know that I think of you everyday. I carry your wisdom with me in everything I do. I miss your caring and loving words that helped guide me in my younger days but sustain me now.

I hope that I have not let you down.

Please give Mom a hug and kiss and keep watching over Iris and me.

Sunning

While MPM's Dora is waiting, my Zoei is out for her daily sun bath.

Zoei had her ears flushed out yesterday and is not feeling up to par. I guess she thought a little sun bath would revitalize her! Wonder if a little sunning would do the same for me?
